Extremely useful to serious learners of classical music. Swaras maintain rhythmic consistency. Imagine Tabla player sitting next to you all the time.

What a student of musicology needs most to understand music is actual experience in singing. In Indian Classical Music, therefore, performing artists either experienced professionals or learners, to gain & maintain mastery over it, need continuous day to day practice, i.e. what is called as Riyaz.
This Riyaz needs a standard basic swar known as ‘Adhar Swar’, for which Tanpura is mandatory. ‘Swar’ is one of the main important pillars of any Music.
Till today the tradition is to own & possess the instruments of accompaniment. Apart from the cost, one must have the knowledge and art of fine-tuning them. One must have the talent of playing them or to organize to have companion artists to play them. All these cause lot of expenses, difficulties and resultant constraints. Add to these, constant corrections in tuning is needed due to changing temperatures and humidity. The note can sound different by the way the instrument is held, positioned & played-for example, Tanpura plays differently in vertical & horizontal positions.
Time & mood, factors also put forth many limitations to Riyaz.
Here in Riyaz- Tanpura it has been tried to overcome all practical difficulties & limitations.
